Like new condition, raced about 6 times this past season. PDX tires are in excellent condition, little to no wear visible on the tread. I bought these for a super light cyclocross racing setup. The 202 Tubular rims are amazingly light and strong. Perfect for CX in the fall and road in the summer.

Light weight with massive gains in performance. That’s the story behind the Zipp® 202 Firecrest® Tubular Disc-brake. This is our most durable carbon tubular wheelset for the demands of today’s cyclocross racers and the emerging road-disc rider and racer.

While the original 202 Tubular is a pure climber’s wheel, the 202 Firecrest Tubular Disc-brake is so much more. For starters, we’ve created a rim with improved impact resistance that’s also purpose-built for disc brakes. Without having to worry about creating a brake track, our engineers were free to innovate the rim’s design to enhance stiffness, and aero performance while keeping weight low. Aided by our wind-smoothing ABLC™ dimples that extend all the way from the rim’s inner to outer diameters, this 1,330g, wheelset excels at accelerating up to speed.

Borrowing from the longtime CX standard 303 rim design, the 202 Firecrest Tubular rim is wider and has a deeper radius than many other tubulars. This helps with tire stability.

The 202 Tubular Disc-brake wheelset was developed using feedback from professional riders. Multiple U.S. cyclocross national champion Jeremy Powers of Aspire Racing, in a conversation during the Zipp lunch ride, discussed the need for a wheelset that was light for the sandy and technically demanding CX courses in Europe that required prolonged bike carries and, once back on the bike, accelerations from low speeds. Powers then tested prototypes of this wheelset in competition, including victory at the national championships.

At higher speeds or out on the road, the 202 Firecrest Tubular Disc-brake, with its 32mm deep rim, provides real aero benefit. Firecrest technology provides AeroBalance™, the category leading crosswind stability and low aerodynamic drag that defines all Firecrest wheels. Combine that with the enhanced modulation and stopping power of disc brakes, and you have a wheelset for cyclocross and beyond.

The 202 Firecrest Tubular Disc-brake also has a distinctive laser-etched “Firecrest” on the rim’s inner diameter.

To exceed the demands of gravel and adventure road riding, the 202 Firecrest Tubular Disc-brake wheelset is laced to Zipp’s 77/177D hubset using Sapim® CX-Ray spokes and secure-lock nipples for increased stiffness and durability in all conditions.

77/177D HUBSET

Bearing preload precision set – that means no pre-load adjustment is needed.

Improved bearing protection and sealant.

Includes newly designed quick-release skewers with a wider more ergonomic handle to provide more leverage for opening and closing. When closed, lever contours neatly with the frame.

Thru-axle compatible. Comes with thru-axle end caps that can be swapped by hand:

Front: 12x100mm & 15x100mm

Rear: 12x135mm & 12x142mm

They are Shimano/SRAM 11 speed compatible and 50mm in depth. The "CX" part of the name indicates that they have a wider tire bed made specifically for wider cross tires. They were used for 8 cross races, and that is it! I trained and warmed up on different wheels, so the wheels are barely used and the tires have tons of tread life left. The tires were purchased new when the wheels were purchased new, so both are less than 1 year old. The tires were glued up by my LBS with the method that combines multiple layers of glue and CX Tape, which is supposed to be quite strong. I'm assured they should have a season left in them before the tires will need to be reglued. The tires are a bit dirty, but they are in excellent shape. I also put aquaseal on them to protect the sidewalls, but this was after 1 race was already completed. That is why they look a bit dirty beneath the sealant if you are curious. These are QR and center lock rotor compatible, and they do not come with rotors. 6 bolt rotors would also work if you add the center lock to 6 bolt adapter. If you have thru axles these can be converted if you buy the thru axle conversion kit from HED.

https://www.hedcycling.com/accessories/accessories/thru-axle-kit

Here is what you get:

HED Stinger 5CX carbon wheels (includes valve extenders, lock rings for rotors, and titanium QR skewers - 100mm front and 135mm rear)

Challenge Baby Limus Team Edition tires (glued and ready to go!)

They are in excellent condition, but they have been used so perfect, brand new wheels should not be expected. I assure there is nothing major, and the only thing I am aware of is a small nick in one of the stickers on the rim (see picture). So nothing to worry about since these are cross wheels and those things happen! More details can be found at the HED website if you look at the Stinger Disc Brake page. MSRP on the wheel set alone is about $2,200 and the tires are about $250. Get them both for much cheaper!
Shipped to your door for $1400 via the Paypal friends and family payment method. Almost brand new set of wheels. Ridden about 3 times. Currently un mounted cleaned up and ready for new rubber. 100mm front with 9mm QR. 135mm rear with 9mm QR. I picked them up earlier this season with a plan to upgrade to tubulars. I just haven't had the time or budget to invest in tubulars when I have a garage full of clinchers.
Asking $350 or I would trade for Iron Crosses or Crest 29er wheels. See Carver's website for full details.
