Commuting on a Crosser

Anyone use their crosser as a regular commuter bike.

The only difference is that I use bigger touring tires for commuting. There is some argument out there that fatter tires provide a better ride with comparable rolling resistance and efficiency. I'm rollin' on 38C Schwalbe Marathon Cross all seasons. Having checked the internet it was really easy to find a few articles written in magazines where the Axis, specifically, was used. Really for commuting disc brakes are ideal, and I often wonder what geometry differences there are between a Trek Portland and X0.; ▶ Reply to This

I currently commute on my road bike, but looking forward to the day I will on my Italian Stallion. 'cross bikes do make really great commuters, but if you putting in serious commuting miles in all conditions, etc. expect to do a lot of maintenance and replace things often -- not the best situation to be in if you race the same bike on the weekends...; ▶ Reply to This
