Lezyne GPS (PowerGPS) resetting un-intentionally

I've been running the Lezyne Power GPS for about 6 months now with zero problems. All the hassles, firmware updates (usually at the most inconvenient times), etc that I experienced constantly with Garmin were completely resolved - until yesterday.

Now my Lezyne appears to do a factory reset every time its powered up. All the customized display fields, units of measure, Bluetooth sensor ID's - zorched.

Firmware is up to date, battery shows 100% charged - all appears good from the outside but this sounds like a dead internal system battery. Wondering if the Lezyne has such a battery and if anyone has ever experience same problem. I've emailed Lezyne support but have not yet heard any response. Hoping someone else has encountered and resolved somehow
