I'm getting the feeling there are some misguided individuals interested in promoting the entry of cyclocross into the olympics as a winter sport. Somehow, they believe getting cyclocross into the olympics will make it better, legit or a more wholesome sport. Maybe expose it to millions of unfamiliar tv viewers tuning in to watch figure skating or ski jumping? This will kill the fringe beauty of this cycling event. Kind of like when Dick Clark brought punk rock onto American Band stand. Let's not jump the shark. Keep cyclocross in the parks, woods and fields where only us freaks come out on frosty weekends to race, watch and love our cyclocross. You pay your entry fee, race your race, have a beer with your buds and go home and look forward to the next race. Wanna see or race @ the high-end? Plenty of venues across the US (or World) to go currently. Keep it pure and real and off the olympic schedule.
