Hi gang...
Despite our best efforts after 5 years, cyclocross bikes are still a rarity here in Miami FL. So we tend to know each other and give a quick hello when a new one shows up on the scene. Yesterday, after a long mt bike ride in the new Viriginia Key trails I stopped at Jimbo's for a beer. I immediately noticed a whiteg/gray Giant cyclocross bike. Small block eights up front and road rear. Sora level gear.. but with wheelworld.com rims laced up to dark red CHRIS KING hubs and shinny egg beuater pedals. Had a maine sticker on it. Young man riding it new nothing about cyclocross, said he didn't have "bike shoes" and said he had trashed the first wheels so he put "those on". He said he had bought it near Harvard. As in Cambridge MA.
I don't know if I should guide him to the nearest bike shop or turn him into the police. Anybody up North missing a similar bike and/or wheel set? If so, email me at jvoss@jvossman.com. Please feel free to forward this to a better forum if you think one exists. If the guy reads this and its really your bike, I apologize for being suspicious. I had a long history of a stolen mt bike once upon a time.
Thanks, and yes cross is alive in Dade county..
