Comment by Kevin J. Rusch on June 24, 2011 at 8:32pm Thanks for the info, DStudley. That said, if anyone is game for weeknights let me know. The Weds night Woodinville ride sounds cool but unfortunately timing won't work for me. Will they still be doing the CX training series at Marymoor closer to the season's start?
Greg - I'd love to get some weekend rides in. Are you able to go early(ish)? Like 8:30am or earlier? I've got a 12 month old at home which has a lot of impact on how much, when, and what I can do and I like to get my rides done and out of the way so I can be a part of the family on weekends. I can start later if need be though. Do you ride road as well as CX? I'm still game for road riding but after a little jaunt in the park I'm finding my 'cross handling rusty. FWIW - I raced B's in SF which I'm assuming would have me riding with the 3's but officially I'm a 4 and I'm unsure of how I'll adjust to pretty different NW conditions.

Out side of the race the actual course used for the race at wooldand park isn't as interesting or fun as what an individual or small group can create in a small area of the park to train and hone your skills. The course used for the race becomes a great course when you have 60 racers and muddy conditions.
@Greg,
Much of the cross community are either racing road or mtb right now to gain fitness for cross. For midweek dirt fitness there is the informal Wednesday night group rolling from Woodenville Redhook at 6:30 on MTB's this time of year, but slowly swapping to CX bikes as the season approaches. The route is about 16 miles take ~1.5-2 hours as a race simulation.

i'm over on the eastside but would be interested in getting in some weekend rides regardless of location.
as for the weeknight training, i'd like to put the same option out there for anyone on the eastside, barriers at my expense.
i only raced two CAT4 last year, but have high hopes to do decent in CAT3 by the end of this season. (just in case there are any elite riders out there that want to build themselves up by uterly destroying a newbie)
sorry to hyjack the thread.....
