Building wheels for two bikes...

Started this discussion. Last reply by Rich Jan 10. 1 Reply

I have a spare set of old DT Swiss hubs and spokes that I'd like to use to build up a training wheelset for both my CX bike (2012 Spec Crux Disc) and my MTB.  I'd have my LBS do the build, but I was…Continue

Can your breathing make you sick

Recently I've been getting sick with more vigorous off-bike cardio. I thought it was my diet, or related to fluid intake, or some other things, but now I'm wondering if it was because of my…Continue

"I'm partial to Pacenti myself.  The SL23 would make a great CX rim, but CX and MTB?  A CL25 maybe, but that is a pretty wide rim for a CX tire.  I'd call and ask.  Other wise Velocity A23s or something like that maybe.…"

"Not planning on making them to sell. Still using them, though, and they work really well. They're real simple to make if you were thinking of giving it a go."

Clipless Pedal Covers

I thought some of you might like this. I've been using my mountain bike for commuting now that it's winter, but I don't have any good clipless shoes for around town. So I went to a scrap metal yard and found a small chunk of aluminum angle iron, cut it down with a hack saw and file, and drilled some holes for toe clips and cleats, and voila, Pedal covers that fit my egg beater pedals! They work fantastically well, and they're easy to remove, etc.I've attached a few pictures...let me know what…See More

Can your breathing make you sick

Recently I've been getting sick with more vigorous off-bike cardio. I thought it was my diet, or related to fluid intake, or some other things, but now I'm wondering if it was because of my breathing.Yesterday, while doing the same series of exercises I was very concerted about breathing only through my nose. As a result, I think I slowed my respiratory pattern, and either by consequence or happenstance, I didn't get sick. I know that if a person hyperventilates they can get nauseous, but when…See More
