CCCX #3, Laguna Seca Lung-Fest

First CX race of the year, and I was completely shocked at how the intensity was so much more than what I'd been training at. Wow.

I mean, not that this course SHOULD be all that bad, but for me it was. For climbers and those who have good threshold, it's a quickish climb, and then a large recovery. It opens on an uphill, and cuts across a side slope, before going up a longish (for a cross race) climb up a paved path. This climb killed me 4 of the 5 times we went up it. Once up on… Continue

The NW season is in full swing

Obra had theirs:

http://app.obra.org/results/event/13308

Seattle had theirs:

http://www.seattlecyclocross.com/results.html

And Canada would probably have had theirs if anyone could participate because they require a International UCI License (read - $150 + everything else)

so if you want to keep up with the BASICS in the NW, try this:

Cheers!

Second race....

Had my 2nd CX race this weekend and it was great. I moved up to the B's to get more race for the money and met my goal of not finishing DFL (by one place). I think I would have been top 1/3 in the C race. The course was a lot of fun, but still brutal...especially with a LOOOOONG run-up that wasn't fun to get going on the singlespeed. Next race in a couple weeks on the 19th at Cannonsburg Ski Area. Maybe I will see ya there!

Hup Hup,

Jon

BTW, I added a bunch of… Continue

Help needed in Grand Rapids MI!

Just passing a message along from Rick, Kisscross promoter.... from his website. He needs our help to keep kisscross going in G-Rap!

Wednesday night 9.17.O8 5:00 PM til dark. We need all the able bodies we can get to help repair Highland Park. I was just down there and damage is considerable in some spots. The City talked with me and they said they aren't happy with the condition of the park. Bring your rakes, work boots, tampers or seed spreaders and save the future of KISSCROSS…

It's here

4 months of training for it and now it is here!

Had the day out of the office to prep the bike and pack a bag. Off to France tomorrow morning...

I'm a little apprehensive, not of the distance but of the reputation of the cobbles, and of the weather. 160 mile sin the rain anyone???

Par15 Roubaix???

Well I'm starting with what is the final countdown to my first real goal of the year... Paris Roubaix, the amateur 'sportive'... with over 2000miles under my belt in preparartion my taper has been more of an abrupt stop in the passed 10 days due to my FIL becoming ill...

Not really a 'cross race but I guess as close as it gets in the off season.

Saturday we travel to Compiegne for a 'crack of stoopid' start on Sunday! Am I looking forward to it??? Hell yeah! The weather is… Continue

Greetings planet cross...

Hello everyone in cross land. You will not find anything too exciting in my first blog post as it is only to test the feature. I will say that I went to go see Forgeting Sarah Marshall this weekend and it is Hilarious! Crude, funny vulgar. Be forewarned...male frontal nudity. No kidding.
