Hello fellow Cyclocross fanatics!

My name is Marcus Warrington. I'm a lifelong avid mountain biker and huge cyclocross fan ever since going to Madison for the 2012 cyclocross national championships. Cyclocross and mountain biking specifically have each given me a pretty big sense of adventure in life. With this past experience leading me to now, I'm ready to take that sense of adventure to the next level.

Two friends and I have applied for the adventure of a lifetime. An event by Red Bull, "Can You Make It 2016" is a challenge in which we will have to get across Europe using only cans of Red Bull. No money, no phone, and no outside contacts. Along the way, we must get to checkpoints and solve puzzles along with completing bucketlist activities to score points. All in all, it's the adventure of a lifetime.

To get selected, we need votes, and are falling behind with 8 days left in voting. I'm hoping the biking community that lead me to this point is able to lend a hand and support us in getting through the public voting and becoming finalists! Voting is super easy to do and takes only 15 seconds. Clicking on the link and hitting the "like" button on the screen it brings you will get the job done and give us another valuable vote in our pursuit to get to Europe!

Thanks for reading everyone, and I look forward to seeing many of you in Iowa for the world cup this year!
WHAT'S UP WITH WORLD'S?????tag:cowbell.cxmagazine.com,2016-01-24:1198434:Topic:1679502016-01-24T19:37:15.119ZJeff Potterhttps://cowbell.cxmagazine.com/profile/JeffPotter

I'm seeing ZERO BUZZ. What's up? Where are the articles and course previews in CX Mag? I see one piece here about the US Team selection. Ummm... WHEN is the race? Like, what TIME? And what are the ways we can WATCH it????? I can't find anything on Google either! I'm guessing Cyclingfans will have something, but WHAT TIME??? I don't see it there, either. Someone out there has to be lots better at finding this info then me. I mean, lots of people must already know it. THANKS!

Thursday, June 20, 2013
7-9:30 PM
Signature Cycles (30 minutes north of NYC at 14 Railroad Ave, Greenwich, Connecticut)

Come join us for a video sneak preview and an auction/raffle night to raise money for Mountain2Mountain, a nonprofit dedicated to creating voice and opportunity for women and children in conflict zones. The two projects running in 2013 include Mountain2Mountain's ongoing work supporting women who dare to ride bikes in Afghanistan, and Strength in Numbers, a project that launch this summer with its first mountain biking camp in Breckenridge for young women that have survived gender violence.

The project’s founder and National Geographic’s Humanitarian of the Year, Shannon Galpin, will be at the event speaking about the projects. She’s been featured on NBC, in the New York Times, and in countless cycling magazines and blogs.

In 2014, the documentary film Afghan Cycles will premiere covering the fight for Afghan women, and the courage that they've shown in daring to race bikes. The film was shot in Afghanistan with Let Media and proceeds will benefit Mountain2Mountain and its continued work to support the development of women's cycling in Afghanistan. Strength in Numbers will also extend its reach to several more camps in more locations to build an army of women that can change the world!

The goal of our auction/raffle at Signature Cycles is to raise funds for this summer's Strength in Numbers camp and the creation of the Afghan Cycles documentary. All of the proceeds collected will go directly to the projects. Some of the items being auctioned will come from the sponsors of Mountain2Mountain and will include goodies from Osprey, Skratch Labs, Primal Wear, and more.

As a bonus, we'll be screening some sneak peeks of footage filmed in Afghanistan.

More info: mountain2mountain.org and facebook.com/events/143914595801917
Rider down - fundraisertag:cowbell.cxmagazine.com,2013-03-14:1198434:Topic:1411542013-03-14T05:59:17.243Zslippyfishhttps://cowbell.cxmagazine.com/profile/slippyfish

Mark and Sarah Bender were spending last week in Hawaii to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. They left their four boys home. On their last day, Mark suffered a catastrophic injury, a C6/7 complete spinal cord injury. He had emergency surgery, and is recovering in a Hawaii ICU for what they think will be at least 2 weeks before he is stable enough to return home.

Another MoFi team mate and crazy fast racer Jenni Gaertner has organized a coffee fundraiser, courtesy of her generous sponsor DOMA coffee roasters. If you need to reload your coffee cupboard, or just want to reach out and help, please consider buying a bag or two from the DOMA site:

http://www.domacoffee.com/index.php

All proceeds from every $12.50 bag of coffee sold will go directly to the Bender family.

What is Short Track? What do I need?
Short Track racing is a short Mountain Bike race. Short time, short course. But all-out effort. Think of it like a double-sized BMX track for your MTB. With your cyclocross effort dialed all the way up - not much time, you've got to go NOW!

You'll need a mountain bike, or at least flat bars. No drop bars, it's a MTB race.

The city of Dublin, Ohio has been great in letting us set up our races here at a very well cared-for park. Along with some great sponsors, it's a day you can't beat. Little time commitment, not much cash outlay to race, maximum fun.

See you out there!
