Here is the ultimate cross wheelset! This is a set of HED Stinger 5CX carbon disc brake wheels that I purchased new late last summer (2015). They are Shimano/SRAM 11 speed compatible and 50mm in depth. The "CX" part of the name indicates that they have a wider tire bed made specifically for wider cross tires. They were used for 8 cross races, and that is it! I trained and warmed up on different wheels, so the wheels are barely used and the tires have tons of tread life left. The tires were…

The tires were purchased new when the wheels were purchased new, so both are less than 1 year old. The tires were glued up by my LBS with the method that combines multiple layers of glue and CX Tape, which is supposed to be quite strong. I'm assured they should have a season left in them before the tires will need to be reglued. The tires are a bit dirty, but they are in excellent shape. I also put aquaseal on them to protect the sidewalls, but this was after 1 race was already completed. That is why they look a bit dirty beneath the sealant if you are curious. These are QR and center lock rotor compatible, and they do not come with rotors. 6 bolt rotors would also work if you add the center lock to 6 bolt adapter. If you have thru axles these can be converted if you buy the thru axle conversion kit from HED.

https://www.hedcycling.com/accessories/accessories/thru-axle-kit

Here is what you get:

HED Stinger 5CX carbon wheels (includes valve extenders, lock rings for rotors, and titanium QR skewers - 100mm front and 135mm rear)

Challenge Baby Limus Team Edition tires (glued and ready to go!)

They are in excellent condition, but they have been used so perfect, brand new wheels should not be expected. I assure there is nothing major, and the only thing I am aware of is a small nick in one of the stickers on the rim (see picture). So nothing to worry about since these are cross wheels and those things happen! More details can be found at the HED website if you look at the Stinger Disc Brake page. MSRP on the wheel set alone is about $2,200 and the tires are about $250. Get them both for much cheaper!
Shipped to your door for $1400 via the Paypal friends and family payment method.
I pick up two sets of identical HED Kermesse wheelsets here locally in MN last winter from a colleague who raced them one season and keeps his stuff in fantastic condition.
File tread tire and rear tire has some sealant in and has held up fine. I can also throw in a used pair of Vittoria XG 34c tubulars, 220tpi. They have some old glue and some tread left. I bought these used to have as a spare set in case I needed one, but I never did. (not pictured)

I also have a rear Ultegra 28h hub that can be laced up for an extra rear wheel.

This is a great way to try out some tubulars and really get the advantage of running low pressure. $275 for the whole package. If you don't want the extra rear hub, we can work something out. You pay for shipping from Los Angeles, or pick up if you are in the area.

Salsa CroMoto Grande 29er rigid fork. There was a brief moment when I thought, "Hey, rigid 29er SS will be fun." The moment was so brief, I never even mounted this fork. I bought from a female rider who is shorter and weighs less than me, so it's good to go. Steerer tube is 1 and 3/4 iPhones long. Disc brake adapter, included. I believe it's for 6" post mounts. $50

Kona Project 2 cromo 1 1/8" fork. Lots of steerer on this. Braze-ons for fenders and a front rack. Why do I have this...? $25 Black.

Schwable Ultremo 700x23 Clincher tire. I just Googled this tire, and apparently there was a re-call (free replacements offered) for the Ultremo "R" tire. I don't know what model this is, there's too much snow to go back out now. $20. If you get a free replacement, chapeau.

Lastly, Campagnolo Veloce 10s rear hub. Classic. It comes in a wheel. The rim itself, not really any good, but it's a free bonus! Wheel is already detensioned for disassemblely. I'll even include the tire on the wheel that you can't see. No lock ring. No skewer. $15
