Here you can see pedal without shield on the left panel, with shield (1mm of PVC) on the right. It is easy to dismount with it, the same effect can be achieved by cutting off the shoes outsole, but pvc shield protect shoes from dirt. Without shield it is very, very hard to dismount even at lowest position of tight bolt.

I bought a new pair of Sidi Spiders, and they just don't work for my feet. Only worn indoors, never had cleats mounted. Includes box and all original packaging. Size 48 and I'm throwing in an extra pair of soles. If you're not familiar, the Spiders fall between the Dominators and the Dragons/Dracos in Sidi's mtb hierarchy. They're sometimes called 'cross specific. $260 bucks gets the whole package; shoes and replacement soles. I'm in Portland, but I will ship for an extra $15.

I recently switched to Shimano XTR pedals and have been really happy with them. Previously on Crank Bros., but had continuous problems with pedals breaking.

While racing yesterday, I came unclipped from my left pedal twice--once while sprinting at the start and once while pointing my left knee into a turn. Both times it was when my heel twisted INWARD. Using SH51 (black) cleats. The Shimano Tech Doc says that these cleats should only release with OUTWARD movement of the…

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Any suggestions?

I've been riding SPDs that are about 10+ yrs old and are dying, so looking for my next set of pedals. I have heard the Time's are pretty nice in that they don't (or hardly) get clogged. Anyone have any experience with them they can share?
Tnx.
Bd
The mud sure looked thick on day 2 of the mercer cup. Curious if anyone had pedal issues with that thick mud. If you did, what brand/model pedals were you using? If no, what were you using? Did you pit?

we're always playing with pedals here. most of the time I don't even know what I'm about to clip into. we'd like community feedback on the candy vs eggbeater decision though. have you ridden both? decided on one? then chime in, that's the feedback we're looking for. what did you decide on and why?
