I am selling my 2012 58cm Specialized Crux Expert aluminum frameset and build. The frame was raced for one season and rode a lot on trails and roads. It is used but not abused. There are no dents or dings. The clear coat and paint have some scratches but it just adds character. This frameset is a workhorse and deserves to be pushed.
Carbon fork is in great shape and the headset and bottom bracket bearings have been replaced recently. There are new cables and housing on it as well. Everything has been maintained and lubed as required. The frame was just gone over by the LBS a month ago.

The frameset is setup with Avid Shorty Ultimates front and back. There is a Ritchey Pro 120mm 4-bolt stem and Ritchey Pro Evo Curve 44cm bars up front. The stem and bars are nice and fat and add some comfort and responsiveness to the front end. The seat post is a Thomson Elite set-back.

The derailleurs and shifters are older Shimano 105. These are the bullet proof sets, that Shimano made before they started adding tons of plastic and overcomplicating their designs. I used newer shifters on it for awhile and switched back to these for reliability. The is a SRAM Force BB30 175mm crankset on the bike. It is currently wearing a pair of top end WICKWERKS 44/34 cyclocross chainrings. The rear cassette is fairly Shimano 105 11-28. The chain is a newer Shimano MTB chain with plenty of life.

The wheels are hand built beauties. Shimano 105 hubs are paired with Velocity A23 rims (the good American made ones). They are 32 spoke 3x and are TOUGH but responsive. I set them up tubeless with ease and raced them at very low pressure with no issues. They have never needed truing in 2 years of use!

Current tires are Panaracer RIBMO slicks but the bike includes 4 Panaracer CG cycloross tires, a Specialized Terra tire, and Ritchey file tread rear tire.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

The bike also includes a pair of TRP short pull mini-V breaks. These are great if you want more stopping power than the cantis.

A set of Shimano 105 50/34 chainrings and SRAM 46/36 cyclocross chainrings are also included. Plus there is an additional 11-23 SRAM cassette with little wear.

Also includes; several tubes, rim strips, extra spacers, about 4 sets of brake pads, and an extra derailleur hanger!

The pedals and saddle are not for sale.

Given the quality components, hand built wheels, frame in good shape, and the amount of extras I am asking $800. With everything included you really are getting two bike as this is a very capable road machine as well. I am also willing to entertain trades. I am looking for a SS rigid 29er. I will do a straight trade or work something out. I am located in the Charlotte area and would prefer to keep it local and avoid shipping but I am willing to ship for the right deal and if buyer covers cost.

This bike is race-ready! It hasn't been used since 2013. Frame and components are in excellent shape. There are no significant scratches and certainly no dents/gouges/etc. There is typical wear on the crank arms from my shoes and on the head tube from the cable housing. The Easton carbon wheels have only been raced but do show signs of use, including a paint chip. They are super light and FAST. There is also a scratch on the stem and a scuff mark on the right-side hood. This bike is…

There are three spots with some paint missing. One is very visible in one picture, on the down tube on the "Specialized" decal, the other is very minor - on the head tube behind the cable housing (usual rubbing - not causing a gouge) and the third is at the rear dropouts.
Just thought I'd post a little diddy to let anyone who's curious about the Specialized Tracer Pro 2Bliss (tubeless) tires know how they've been treating me this year. I'm 220 and have them mounted tubeless with 2oz of Stans on Velocity a23 rims.

Both tires mounted up SUPER tight. You better have thumbs of steel or you WILL need tire levers. Of course this is a good thing for a tubeless setup. For the record, I fought Clement PDX's all season with burps last year. Of course…

Both tires mounted up SUPER tight. You better have thumbs of steel or you WILL need tire levers. Of course this is a good thing for a tubeless setup. For the record, I fought Clement PDX's all season with burps last year. Of course they also mount up on most rims with little more than a gentle breeze.

In training and racing I've settles on 40psi in the rear and 38psi up front. I ride really soft, but most of the races here in middle TN happen on farms and farm ruts (or roots on single track) will kiss the rim under me at less than those pressures. At 38 up front and 40 in the rear I'll still ever so slightly kiss the rim if i catch the top of a barrier when hopping it too.

But of course, that's not what you spend most of the time in a race doing.

SO HERE'S THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION......

How do they do in the mud? Can those small knobs really provide adequate grip as they tout?

In a word, YES! And surprisingly well. Just yesterday I had a race that included 3 mud puddles with standing water deeper than bottom bracket and a 50 yard or so long section of 5-8 inch deep sticky farm mud. I do have a decent amount of technical skill, but I rode past many people who were slipping and falling in the mud. Sure I had a couple of squirms, but no slips. Even better is the tread profile shed the mud VERY quickly once back onto the grass.

I'm really liking how fast they are on the super dry grass. Haven't had them slip once in an off camber section.

Hope this info helps.
