Newb to CX and just moved to NH. I am riding a Crux EVO from last year with OEM 700cx38 Trigger Sports (I also have a set of Tracer Pros 700x33c that my old LBS recommended for my hybrid) and as the weather is getting ready to change AND I've found some great MTB trails to work on my handling I think I may need a more all-around tire.

What recommendations are there for all-around clinchers? What about for the winter?

Thanks!

Selling a set of almost new Challenge Limus CX 700x33 Limus Tubular tires, glued up earlier this fall, ridden once, almost new condition.
Asking 130 for both (shipped)! Black sidewalls. Great tire for muddy races, but a little too aggressive for me personally.
I can email you actual pictures.

$150 for a pair shipped priority within US continent; tracking # and insurance for $150 included.

It has removable valve (not valve core as many idiots on ebay advertise). If your rim is deeper than 25mm I suggest buying Maxxis MVS Presta valves which fit the Vittoria tread perfectly, have removable cores (for easy sealant entry) and are CHEAP; just use a little white plumbing tape for perfect seal.

I'm set on going to Tubulars but I just don't know what width to purchase.

I do plan on racing in the Masters worlds this year so size MAY play an issue.

For my size / weight do I:

1) do I go with the 32 or the 34

2) if the 34 doesn't fit the worlds but are the better tire - I could buy a second set for that race.

Tube-tied pressure in Clement Crusade PDX for 200lb-er?tag:cowbell.cxmagazine.com,2011-09-24:1198434:Topic:1097472011-09-24T11:56:42.239ZJeffrey Davishttps://cowbell.cxmagazine.com/profile/JeffreyDavis
I just got in some Clement Crusade PDX's and I'm trying to decide where to start testing the tire pressure at. The min pressure on the tire is 45, but i know lots of yall run tube-tied way lower than that. I'm about 200lbs and and like to bunny hop. I'm running them on alex dc19 rims which are 17mm wide, if that is a factor in what pressure i might could run (and if it's not, i'm a cx noob, so deal with it. ;-) )

If you boot a tire with a sidewall cut, would you trust it to run tubeless?

OK, the old Michelin Muds aside: I found several NOS 'cross tires hanging up at a shop in a small town and they looked like they'd be pretty good mudd/loose conditions tires but maybe I'm overlooking something.

IRC V-Cross: found one. Yes it's labelled as 700 x 37 but the casing is closer to a 33 or 34. Big, tall knobs with plenty of spacing in between. May have some rolling resistance on pavement/grass but looks like it will have some real bite.
Trek Matrix Multi-Track: found one. Labelled as a 35 but may be a bit skinnier. I found one person who thought these were like gold but no other references to them. Knobs very similiar to the V-Cross above. Looks to be another good mud tire.
Vredestein Campos. I no longer have but wish I did. The set I had I used up as a general off-road trail tire. Casing made the ride feel so smooth (to my untrained rear). Somebody hording these? rolling resistance: width vs knobstag:cowbell.cxmagazine.com,2011-05-16:1198434:Topic:905362011-05-16T00:04:50.035Zc-notehttps://cowbell.cxmagazine.com/profile/cnote
On a long road section, given the same tire pressure, would a narrower tire with knobs have more or less rolling resistance than a wider tire with a smoother tread. For example, comparing a Michelin Jet 33.5 mm actual inflated width and 340 grams vs a Vredestien Campo 29.5 mm actual inflated width and 350 grams, which would be more efficient on the road, not taking any dirt sections into account (or let's just say the dirt sections are hard packed and only mildly bumpy, like broken pavement). …
