I would like to start using power on the cross bike, but all of my set-ups are wired and it seems cumbersome for the mud etc. Does anyone have insight on any good deals out there for a Mavic Wheel wireless powertap as I would rather not spend $1,000+ on a wheel for cross. Nothing on E-Bay seems even reasonable in terms of price for wireless. Thanks.

Just buy another harness. I raced like that for years.

Unfortunately the value of wireless PowerTaps is going to remain the same as they gain new functionality provided by the soon to be released ANT+Sport compatibility.

If I may also say, I've found power data from 'cross races to be of little to no use. And I say that as a coach and someone who trains by power religiously.
Thanks for the feedback. I have heard that Power files from Cross are all over the place. Really was more focused on using it for training. I didn't think the wired/wireless hubs were compatible or I would just add a harness and use that wheel with a CX tire. Yes, a lot cheaper if it works that way.
For training they will be of more use, but "specificity, specificity, specificity", right? So presumably your 'cross training/practice is going to be all over the place too, right?

Wired/wireless are not compatible. What I meant was, if you have a few wired wheels, just buy another harness for your 'cross bike and move a wheel over to that (or back and forth between bikes, if you're poor like me)
