I was looking at a 29er fork for my cross bike. Will a 29er fork withtabs for canti's work with my 700c wheels?

It will raise the front up considerably and slacken the stearing angle noticibly. This will make handling very slow and may also cause a bit too much stress around the headtube with the new angles.
Thanks, I was looking at the Voodoo 26/29 fork and wondering if it would work as an inexpensive fork option.
