Has anyone tried running a 50 tooth on a Cannondale SuperX Rival? I have been running a road wheel set and with the 46 I run out of gears on the flats. Seeing if anyone has tried fitting one on or if it is possible with the braze-on derailleur if it would raise high enough? I know I would need a longer chain also.

Thanks in advance

Jeremy,

Just to make sure a simple alternative isn't an option - what's your rear cassette? If it's a 12+ you could jump to an 11, which would give you an equivalent front ring bigger than a 50 (50.6).

I'm pretty sure you should be able to fit a 50 though...but don't have experience. Many people used to run a 48t for cx, and can't imagine the bike was designed to not accommodate that, and a 50 is barely bigger (in terms of diameter).

I do have an 11, so I will experiment with the 50 and see what happens. Thanks
