Setup as cross bike: XT read derr.; XTR front derr., Truvativ crank with cookie cutter (thanks to Steve Cooke a.k.a. Cookie), Mavic Open Pro/HUGI 240; Thomson seatpost (my favorite bike brand), Ritchey stem/bar, IRD headset (another brand fav. in my signature blue), tandem carbon fork, XTR brake calipers, Diacompe brake levers, Tektro cross brake levers, Dura Ace bar end shifter (for rear), old fashioned downtube shifter for front that I hook up when touring, Trans Am Gel ProLink saddle.
I built this while working for Harborside Cycles in Gloucester, MA. Wonderful peeps.
Pain in the ass to build because of rear 135mm rear drop spacing, and it requires a friggin' mtb. crank. Anyway, the ride is worth it. Rode the Deerfield Randonee back in... 2005? on this bike. Tough one; perfect bike for this kind of ride.
