I'm looking at building up my first 'cross bike for general training and with some hopes of trying out some racing this fall.  I've been doing a lot of research regarding sizing.  One option I am looking at is a used Ridley X-Fire.  I found all the articles discussing its odd geometry with the high BB etc.  I don't have a road bike currently to compare against but I road a 58cm (58/56cm ST c-t/c-c, 56.3cm TT, 73 deg ST).  Seemed to fit pretty good.  My latest online fit calculator measurements recommend a 54/56cm c-c/c-t ST with a total reach of 67.2cm, saddle height of 73.45cm.

So I was looking at a 54cm X-Fire and the thing that jumps out is the 87cm stand over height!  My inseam is 81.2cm so that seems extremely tall.  And that would only give me a 54.5cm TT. Based on the "reach" number above I would need a 130 stem. Most posts here seem to recommend a longer TT/shorter stem setup.  I realize that SO height isn't everything, but I wouldn't even be able to straddle the bar.

Am I missing something or misinterpreting the numbers?  Or do I just not fit well on Ridley's geometry?  Any other general sizing pointers would be welcome too.  Thanks in advance!
