Bianchi Axis Campy/Tektro build

For the record (no pun intended) so far I really like the 34/50 X 13-26 gearing. The 34 is not too tall. I went for my first ride if the year today. It was only 5 miles, but I found some mud. For my fitness level right now, the 34T ring is just right for playing in the mud and fields. The 50T seemed a bit big for me today on the road. But I ride a 34/50 X 11-23 on my road bike, so I know it's just a lack of fitness.

Does anyone have any tuning tips for the Tektro CR720s?
