BMC Cross Machine versus Ridley X-Fire
Hi,
I'm hoping to get some help in choosing between these two bikes. I'm having a difficult time sizing the Ridley because according to Ridley's size chart I should ride a 54 however, my foot hits the tire when I turn on a 54. As for the 56, the size chart says my legs are too short for a 56.
With the BMC, I'm concerned about the underside of the TT. It's not flat and I'm worried that it may just be a too uncomfortable.
Any help or advice is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hey Christian,
If it helps, I have the Ridley X Fire and I love it. I usually buy a new frame every season but not this year, this will be my second season on the X Fire and it is hands down the best cross machine I have ever ridden. Sizing is weird indeed. I am 5'7 and usually ride a 52cm road machine. With the Ridley, I got the 49cm and it's perfect. So, I think the general rule with those is 3cm. It holds a fast line on dirt like no other and is really fast out of corners, and light. Hope that helps. Have never ridden the BMC but they make nice road bikes, that is for sure. I don't think the flat top tube will make a difference with a bike that light.
