I'm planning to be in Boulder on 9/25 for a short vacation.   Does anybody have a CX bike I can borrow (rent) for the Cat 4 race?  56cm.   I'm coming from NE and it costs too much to fly with my bike for my 30 Minutes of Hell.

Boulder Cycle Sport has a good selection of "demo" cross bikes you can rent for $50/day.
Mike beat me to it. Call up Boulder Cycle Sport. They'll get you rolling dirty (ha!)

First off, plan for 45 "minutes of hell". I've done a lot of bike renting on my travels and the bikes you get never quite measure up your own bike which has your fit dialed in, etc. What I do now is get a box from my LBS, usually free, and pack it up and check it. Depending on the airline it could be $50-150 each way but if you don't tell them its a bike or give a little white lie you may get by with paying less or nothing. This is risky though. The other option is shipping UPS to a friend or shop out here. I believe Boulder Cycle Sport and Alpha are affiliated with the races that weekend and they might accept a shipped bike, it's worth a call.

edit I didn't realize BCS rented, I'd go that route.
