I just wanted to know if someone on this site has cycled across united states for a cure or for fun?

A few years back I covered about 2/3rds of the US on a Redline Conquest, riding from Sioux Falls, SD to Portland, OR, via the Louis and Clark Trail. It was an incredible ride--hot, windy, beautiful, thunderstorms and lots of pancakes! My teammate and I kept a pretty stiff pace--thanks in large part to the bikes--and covered the 2300 miles in 23 days.

Sadly, youtube didn't like me using Bob Dylan, so here's an audio-less video of the trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhBfWh0SVD4

At some point, I hope to do the Northern Tier, and make it coast to coast.
Last year, on a motorcycle trip, I cam across a cyclist pulling a trailer on Hwy 50 just east of Fallon NV. As Hwy 50 is known as the loneliest highway in the US and there wasn't a car for miles I slowed down and rode along side him and had a little chat. Turns out he had ridden from NY and was stoked because he only had 5 more days to reach the CA coast. He had to be suffering, the temp was about 105f at mid-day. Still blows my mind.
