Back by popular demand, on Nov 26th!, the Racing Greyhounds will be hosting the Detroit Invitational Cyclocross again at Dorias Park in Detroit Michigan. The only race featuring the Tequila Shot Shortcut!
The Invitational race directly follows the Greyhound internal team points series race and is intended as a big fat thank you to all our friends and competitors as well as an excuse to blow any remaining cash left from our sponsors.
We've scheduled this on the Saturday after Thanksgiving so that it will not conflict with any other races in the region and to take advantage of the previous 48 hours of carbo-loading and any spouse-kharma accrued during Black Friday
To register for the race, shoot me an email : cxczar at gmail dot com. Tell me why you are awesome and why you deserve to race in the most prestigious free cyclocross race in the Motor City .
I've gotten a lot of great feedback at the last few races I've attended. We had about 100 spectators and competitors, my goal is to triple that this year and still keep unsanctioned, undiciplined and awesome. An excellent write up of last years event is here: http://morairracing.blogspot.com/2010/12/invitational-cyclocross-de...
-The race will remain unsanctioned, fun and a bit silly. Focus on a good time and crowd-racer interaction
-The race will be free
-The course will remain basically the same (i.e. Brutal!) though I will be adding a few refinements like tight off-camber corners to make the course more "cyclocross'-esque. Of course the track will include the Old Velodrome.
-We have an electronic timing system, so pre-register by shooting me an email cxczar at gmail dot com.
