Easton EC90X and that bearcrap headset bearing tensioner.

Hi,

I got a great deal on an Easton EC90X carbon which is installed in my frame. Problem is the beartrap device that came with it has as much strength as a mousetrap. It rattles loose after a decent ride. Has anyone else had this problem? Did you ditch the device? Looking around it seems that a compression plug is more efficient and if this is so, what brand works with the Easton fork?

Many thanks

Geoff

I had that same exact problem...throw it away and get a standard carbon compression plug. Don't know what brand I used, sorry.
most bike shops will have them. fsa makes one, profile designs and possibly ritchey.
