Focus Mares Comp 2010
I'm thinking about buying a Focus Mares Comp from the performance website.
I've been looking for a good, affordable bike for a while now and I just wanted to get some feedback before pulling the trigger.
Have any of you guys seen or ridden one before?
is it worth $1000? (they also ship and assemble for free and gice lifetime free tuneups)

Hi Chris,
We rode the high-end Focus Mares Team (carbon version) and found it stiff and fast. That bike is in Issue 8, now available in digital format (for those who like instant gratification). Where do you live? The v-brakes that come with it, if as pictured, will eliminate fork chatter but offer meager clearance for mud. Would be fine for racing here in Norcal but if you're in the Northwest, you may be running when it gets sloppy.
If you can test out several bikes at shops around you, you'll get a better feel for the bike's fit, components, and the shop's level of service and knowledge.
