Would anyone out there have some advice on wheel choice for the Dirty Kanza 200 coming in June? The route is almost entirely dirt and gravel roads with plenty of sharp rocks (in the Flint Hills of Kansas). I'm using a 'cross frame so wheel choice is more open. The DK 200 forums are available but it seems we're all out training rather than emailing! Any suggestions or experiences w/ these types of conditions?

Thanks!

Yep. Use whatever sturdy wheelset hasn't let you down! A bit more seriously, wheel weight is probably not a concern. So something sturdy, probably 32 or 36 spoke 3X rims on sturdy hubs. Maybe even Salsa Delgado or Velocity Deep V rims. I'm going to use my Mavic CXP 21's on RX100 hubs. Not great shakes but they hold up.
Hey JD thanks for your reply I appreciate it!
I used 32 hole DT Swiss RR 465 rims built 3x on xtr hubs on my disc specific Salsa La Cruz. For tires I used 700x35 Schwalbe Marathon Extremes. Finished without a flat or any other issue.
