Bought a carbon frame and I am just about ready to put it together. I need a rear derailleur, and I am wondering what size cage is best for cross. Long, medium or short? Chime in!

Short, always. Medium and long are for wide ranges of gears on the front (like triples). You'll be running a closely spaced double or even a single. Mediums and longs will slap around a lot and increase your chance of dropping a chain.

Perfect ... Already have a short cage, so I am ready to go. Thanks
