I'm looking to build new wheels. i have chosen cxp33 mavics, and does anyone have wisdom on dura-ace or xtr. i found a great deal on a wheel set with cxp33 and dura ace, but will the hubs hold up to the dirt/mud? any help would be great.

hey - unless you have a steel frame set to 132.5 mm spacing, or want to spread the dropouts wide, or change an axle, the XTR rear hub likely won't fit your 'cross bike. mtn spacing is 135, road 130. the DA hubs will hold up fine - they're sealed well, and the freehub is sealed better than many aftermarket units.

good luck!
thanks for you advice
I'll second the durability for D.A. hubs...mine have been awesome after years of road and 'cx mileage.
if you need a third I'll add it - can't beat DA hubs... they've always been among the best if not the best by a good margin...
