Hey all, what is the consensus on Mavic Aksium wheels? I know “go tubular!” But I am a 200lbs middle of the pack rider with a miniscule budget. And have been happy running Michelin Mud 2 @ 35-40 psi. Would the Mavics hold up to cross?

Yeah, they will. I'm on my second season on a pair with no problems. Never had to true them either. I'm about 170 - 175 lbs so I'm no light weight. I do think that I will need to replace the freehub at the end of this season since it has some play in it but that's what I get for not servicing them sooner...

I hope this helps.

Yup! I'm 200+++ And have had no issues with them on training rides. They are pretty bomb proof. I ride them on tight rooty single track and they are still true. They are nice because heaven forbid you do taco one beoyond repair another $90-$150 bucks and you got a replacement.
Again, second season and still solid here. I'm around 170lb too.

I think at the end of this season hubs will need a service.

Cheers,
Steve
