Switching to wider rims will increase the overall width of the inflated tire (measured at its widest point). In your case it will probably be around 1mm total. However, the widest point of the tire will also move slightly toward the rim. Thus if you have tapered chainstays, you probably have nothing to worry about. If your chainstays are straight and parallel near the tire, you'll have somewhat less clearance. With the wider rim you'll benefit of lower rolling resistance and better cornering, so I would go for it if I were you. Personally, I like the Velocity Dyad and Alex Adventurer rims, which are 24mm wide.
