I've got a 2011 Spec Crux Comp that's bone stock; I'm happy with the bike for now with the exception of the crankset. The frame itself is listed as OSBB (BB30) and I'd like to upgrade it but I want to make sure I get all the right parts. I've done a fair bit of searching both here and through google but didn't come up with a concrete answer of what is needed. Has anyone upgraded their Crux crankset, and if so, what components were needed?
I'm not super familiar with cranksets in general but from what I can tell this has BB adapter cups - so it sounds like I need to remove the adapters, get a BB30 crankset and have BB30 bearings pressfit in - is this correct? Or can I just buy a standard english crankset and swap it out with the existing one?
Here's a link to the bike specs for reference:

I'm not especially unhappy with the current crankset, but I've got a Red crank on my road bike and it's the one component where I'm noticing a difference between a mediocre part and something a bit nicer. The Red crank on my roadbike is much stiffer and just feels better in general. Again though I just want to make sure I get all the right parts when I do upgrade...
"it sounds like I need to remove the adapters, get a BB30 crankset and have BB30 bearings pressfit in - is this correct? ( Yes this is correct, best choice!) Or can I just buy a standard english crankset and swap it out with the existing one?"... The BB30 adapters basically make your crank spindle, 24mm ,fit within the BB30 bearings, to my knowledge there is not a temporary BB30 to 24 threaded adapted to use threaded bottom bracket bearings. I think there are some that press into the BB30 shell BUT I hear once done you are committed to 24mm cranks for the life of your frame. I would recommend a really solid BB30 crank set and just cut to the chase and take advantage of the technology.
