Re sticking tub base tapes

After a few years I have dragged out all my punctured tubs (sew ups to you Yanks?) and mended them.

I can't remember what I used to use to restick the base tape. Contact adhesive. Tub cement?

Some people have claimed to use Barge cement (a contact adhesive).

I'm also very curious if there is a preferred glue, as I have a few old tubs to repair also.
