I have one of these -- super lightweight and will take care of inflating just about anything short of a semi truck tire.

I also have one of these that I use for powering nail guns, etc.

The little Campbell Hausfeld will do everything you want, is very light and very small, and inexpensive.

thanks mark!  i'll check it out.

Talking of... I have a shop compressor in the garage and a 5 gal air tank and was thinking of bringing it to races since my generator is too large to fit in the car. 5 gal @ 150psi should be enough for a few tire changes I would think. I guess I should try it.

I do have a small 12VDC compressor too but it's pretty slow but would re-inflate the 5 gal tank (and thus be good enough volume-wise). I tried a 1200W inverter to power a pancake compressor once and it was not enough - the poor inverter would flip out.
