Any experience with carbon railed saddles ? I was thinking of putting that new RItchey saddle on my bike, I am a bit nervous about the carbon rails holding up to the abuse of CX.
Thanks

No one ? Good idea, bad idea ??
I'd probably say not a good idea. The forces that are put on a saddle in cross are much different than raod and mountain biking. I've seen saddles of different types break when put through the rigors of cross dismounts. I'm not sure that the carbon saddle would be any worse in terms of longevity, but it's an expensive part to have to replace. Especially when there are more economical options that will likely provide the same service.

Is there a reason you were looking at this saddle in particular?
Just the usual cyclocross stupidity..........light weight !
But that doesn't do you any good if it breaks off now does it.
Well I've seen someone kick his nice broken carbon seat post around in disgust in the mud...don't think a carbon rail would hold up much better. Just my 2 cents.
