I'm selling my ultra light set of Stan's Valor Wheels for $850/obo
Here is what some of the promo stuff says:
Stan's advanced engineering has made serious contributions to mountain biking. Their wheels are unique and crazy light, allowing Stan's to achieve a kind of cult following. The Valor's carbon construction is sure to impress anyone who rides them. Stan's worked to increase the lateral stiffness, and reinforce spoke area with their patented Bead Socket technology. The result is light and stiff like a wheel should be, but Stan's also designed them to be elastic enough to smooth out rough sections and absorb impacts. Stan's has called them the most advanced wheels they've ever created. Not only is their new carbon lay-up stronger and lighter than aluminum counterparts, but it also preforms better in real-world conditions.
My experience has been fantastic with these wheels! I have ridden and raced them on both my mountain bike and 'cross bike for 3 years. They have stayed true the entire time and the only thing to ever happen to them was a broken spoke. I try not to get caught up in the promotional hoopla, but I have found these wheels to be incredibly stiff and lively in the right ways and compliant and forgiving at the same time. They accelerate really well, but also have a little bit of "give" when you need it. This wheel set comes in a hair above 1300 grams. It shows some proper scuffs from some real riding. The wheels can be set up either with thru axle or for a QR and features the 3.30 Ti hubs with a brand new free hub body. Outer rim width is 26.4 mm and inner width is 21.3 mm.
