31 January 2009, festivities kick-off at 12:00 noon with The Air 40 Pack Mtb Time Trial and finish with the Lou's Night Cyclocross Races.....
JP puts on a SICK race! In my 12 years of racing 'cross, this event is super special, hope ya'll can make it!!!
Oh yeah - and don't forget to bring a head or bike light! Mine went out, but managed to race with a pen light frozen in between my fingers! Nothing like racing CX on one of the coldest nights on record and racing in the darkness and then back into the party zone, racing through a live rock band, heater lamps, live football game, beer, food, barriers to liven things up! My favorite part was the steep climb up then down into a runway of darkness following a line of beaded lights then into a sweeping left hand s-turn into a log dismount and then do it all over again... whee!!!
LAST, LAST chance to 'cross in CA and the nation????
I grew up in Fresno and always thought Woodward would be a great venue for 'cross racing - especially the section where the Lou is going to be run. I actually used to practice out there in the early 90's. My wife and I are planning on making the drive up from SD. It should be fun!
