I do the basic warm up with some intervals thrown in. I do bring my road bike with me. Even though I get the stinkeye at times, I use the same type of Egg Beaters on my road bike as I do my cross bike. I like the familiarity and I never have an issue finding the pedal and clipping in fast. It's easy to have it set up and I can leave it, I don't have to change wheelsets or ride on a knobby. It works for me.
