I am very bummed about Hutchinson's changes to the Bulldog/Piranha. The new ones are UCI legal, but for 99% of us this is not an issue. I now need to find a tire that i can run tubeless on Ultegra tubleless wheels. Who can share some of their experience with me? no burping please...

See if you can get any of those Schwalbe Super Swans from your local Giant dealer.  Rocket Ron tread, racing compound and tubless ready.

I keep reading that Schwalbe is offering the Rocket Ron and Super Swan in a tubeless ready CX version. Did a search and undercovered this: From Schwalbe: “The Super Swan is a tire that we produce exlusively for
Giant and will not offer in the aftermarket. It is a 700x35c tubeless version of
our old Rocket Ron (HS 406) tread pattern.”

Update: I changed from the Slant Six to the Specialized Captain 2Bliss for this season, and more recently, the just available Trigger (file tread) 2Bliss. The Specialized tires hold air better than the Slant Six does. The Captains are 34c, and the Triggers are 33c stated, but I have not measured them. They are hard to mount...I had to resort to tire levers. This is on my Enve rims, which I could not get Clement LAS tires to hold air on.

I ran the Captains at 28psi front/ 31 rear, and I weigh 180 lbs.

we're really sad the Captains went away. That width and tread was quite good.

The Hutchinsons are back by the way!

Andy, as of last week Specialized listed the Captains in 2Bliss and non-2Bliss. Are they definitely going away?

this is an old post but the Hutchinson tubeless tires are back.
