Hi folks, I'll be in Carrboro over Christmas weekend, and I'd like to know if there are any local races happening over the weekend of the 25th and 26th? I know it's a long-shot, but it'd be fun to…Continue

Hawnest Crossfest was the most insanely epic, and by far the coolest CX race I've ever attended. Brutal, cold, muddy, foggy course at a golf course on the side of a ski resort about 4,000 feet above sea level. The event featured kegS, a hundred+ non-racing spectators, 200+ racers, and a tandem race.
There are tons of videos of the tandems on facebook, and a couple shots of the single speed race on youtube

Stoked I had a low gear for the MSG race today - unfortunately small fields, but a killer course. Look forward to seeing the masses at Hawksnest tomorrow

22 out this week for HCCX, including contingents from Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and for the first time: Asheville. Results are up - see you at MSG tomorrow and Hawksnest Crossfest Sunday

Tandem throwdown at Hawksnest Cyclocross. No, its not on the schedule. No its not covered by insurance. At best, participants will be embarrassed, at worse, they will probably die. Will I endorse it? No. Will I spray beer foam at make merry at their suffering? Hells yes.

Useful stuff:
Boone is this weekend - same course as last year NOT the HCCX venue - been some chatter about gearing, especially among the SS crowd. I'm (a mid-pack 3 with skinny legs) ditching the 1x9 for a compact up front.

Smack talk:
All the top-10 3s are sandbagging losers and should upgrade. That it would then allow me to podium is of no consequence.

Great cross in Cary and Raleigh over the weekend! Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Went to first cross race in Cary today. Rainy, muddy, no skills. I loved it. Now, how do I get skills?

I agree. The HCCXers pretty much have an unfair advantage.

I expect these people to dominate this weekend
