Anybody in the East Bay interested in hitting up some rides? I still haven't figured out all the good loops/spots around the area, so it would be nice to have some actual locals to lead the way.

i too am new to the EB trails...but would love to join group rides.

Since I have no team affiliation, I'm pretty out of the loop as far as group rides are concerned. Doesn't mean we can't start some, no?

I'm planning on doing some exploring out in the hills tomorrow around mid-day. It will probably be a lot of guesswork as far as route selection, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You're absolutely welcome to join me, but I make no promises on my fitness!

tim, i broke a chainring today riding wildcat.  i'll join you next time as i have one on order :(  have fun!  btw> there's a number of CX teams around, i'm with berkeley bike club, but team oakland/missing link are big in the east bay cx scene too.  see ya on the dirt soon. greg

Guys -

There is a mostly regular ride specifically for 'crossers on Sunday mornings up at the horse corral in JM park.  The ML3R and TeamO crew usually meets at Cole Coffee on College at 9am, rolling at 9:10 promptly (folks with kids) to ride up en masse. Also, there is a very "un official" training Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to sunset at the bandstand @ lake Merritt.  Finally, keep your eyes open for the Jon Suzuki led 'cross clinics out at Ceasar Chavez park in the Berzerkly Marina.  I've heard a rumor that there is one comming up very soon with Josh Sneed as the guest pro.
