Starting my third season racing SS, second season with a SS class in our series. Still bring out the geary for B's but the single speed is always waiting in the pit.

I took up 'cross on a dare from friends. Tried short-track this summer just to see if I could handle the bike at all and loved it. Not so sure about cross yet. Especially on SS. No SS class for women at Cross Crusade; I'll be racing with beginners this year, nearly all of whom will NOT be riding SS.

racing SS this year, although there is no SS class here in jersey, so just mixed in with b men

In New Mexico we had an very early and unofficial cross race last week. One guy had a single speed and I had a SS as my pit bike, but I did not need it.
There will be some practice races starting in September, but our first races are in October. I assume there will be more activity in this group, once cross season starts in ernest.

Is this group still active? I'm the only gal racing singlespeed in this year's bunch of newbies and would love to hear from other SS'ers.

So who started racing SS in CX just to do more racing on the same day? That is what I did this year. I loved racing/riding my single speed mountain bike, so what the heck! Why not double up?! What could 45 more mins of pain do to me? Man what a rush!

of course! You're a single speeder still :)

but one condition...

only if you double up when you get your next SS bike :-p

I think this is a pretty cool group, but it'd be better with more ppl here :)
