Nincrossi SS race video from Saturday. Lots of up and down. Chose a 42x22. The winner rode a 40x17.

Been racing SS for a while so I figured I ought to join. SS is the only way to race cross and really suffer :)

Here in Australia I had a Kinlin XR rim built with a Phil Wood 130mm fixed/free hub. Running a White Industries freewheel it is fabulous. The rim gets plenty of road time with a 25c Conti Gatorskin but is fabulous offroad with a 32C Vittoria as well

Team shop built my Reynolds DV46ULT (tubular) wheels with the Eno eccentric hub and Sapim spokes. These wheels are stiff, fast, and stayed true all season.

Online it's hard to buy a SS rear wheel meant for a dedicated SS CX frame without going the custom route. Do any of you build your own wheels? If so, how did you find the experience and the result?
