    Thanks CJ!

FYI, Jamie is submitting the permit application for Highbridge today. More news to come next week.
  • Andrew

have you guys thought about how you would run the course at highbridge?
  • Jed Kornbluh

Jamie has the course laid out but I haven't gotten the specifics from him. SI is in the works but we still have to get the approval (hopefully next week).
  • Jed Kornbluh

    Anyone going to Bear Creek?
  • Echappe Equipment

Any of you guys have some canti brakes I can buy? My distributor is being retarded and has not gotten the brakes I ordered in August.
  • icolquhoun

    anyone run highland park?
with the race coming up in the next two weeks, wondering if anyone had experience with the course. It's relatively flat i know, but how much mud/sand is there usually?

Whats Empire City CX race thats on the UCI calendar for next year?
  • icolquhoun

anyone racing hillbilly hustle, or have done so in the past?
curious as to the gearing to run since i'm SS in the cat4 men
i know it's a fast course, but how fast?
39x16 fast, or would that kill portions of the course that are slow speed?
i run 39x18 almost everywhere and feel thats a good compromise that allows acceleration out of slow stuff.
ref: i run 100-110 self-selected cadence for threshold work and like to spin
if you have no clue on gearing, what is the round-about avg speed for c, b, and a men????
    thanks!

Was wondering if you still have the Tuesday night rides.
    Thanks....joshfield@gmail.com
  • Echappe Equipment

The Tuesday night rides were cancelled once the cops broke them up.
  • Chris Clary

I know this has been argued to death, but can someone give me a good ballpark tire pressure for cx clinchers? It's been a while. FYI, I weigh 160 lbs, and I'm running non-tubeless Bulldogs.
  • Echappe Equipment

Chris: try about 35psi to start. If you have 32m tires you should be ok. BTW: I got toe spikes in. $15.
  • Chris Clary

    Gabe: thanks for the tip.

It's funny you just got the spikes in because earlier today I ran down to Sids and bought their last set. However, it sounds like you have a list of other customers. Good luck this weekend.

BTW, I rode the cx bike today in Highbridge and really dug it!
  • Chris Clary

    Hey all,

I was looking around the Kissena site and say that there's a CX race scheduled for Weds, Nov 18th in NYC, but there's no link to the race. Anyone know anything about this?

    Here's the link:

  • Chris Clary

Wait, that might be the cancelled practice, right?
  • Eloy Anzola

Haven't heard the official word from the person putting that event together. At this point my best guess is that the Wednesday night race is not happening. Will try to confirm.
  • Eloy Anzola

Confirmed. Wednesday night race will not happen in 2009.
  • Chris Clary

Bummer. Where were they thinking of having it?

Does anyone have a spot in the car for Sunday's Hidden Valley race in Vernon, NJ? I'm doing well in the Cat 4 overall, and I'd like to try for the series. As always, I'll bring beer. I can meet in NYC or across the GWB in NJ. Thanks!
  • Kat

Good Morning, just joined the site and group, have my first cross race next Saturday on Long Island. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. - Kat
  • Mike Wahlin

Is anyone aware of any 'fairly local' beginner's coaching / cx clinics that happen closer to the start of the season?
  • Molly Hurford

Mike (and whoever else is interested!)

Rutgers CX usually has a cx clinic sometime in July in New Brunswick, NJ- nothing too formal or expensive, but it's usually pretty well attended and really fun.  (And I don't just say that because I'm an alum of the team, I really mean it!)
