Hmmm... I really, really like my bikes. But, how 'bout a Nick Crumpton 'cross bike with Edge Composite fork and 2.38 tubular rims, Thomson Elite X2 stem, Thomson seatpost collar (when they're available), Thomson Elite seatpost, Fizik Gobi saddle, Stella Azzurra Tecno Spugna extra-soft bar tape, FMB SSC tires, Alchemy Bicycle Works hubs, Sapim Laser spokes, Zero Gravity brakes, Kool Stop pads, Gore Ride-On sealed cables, Time ATAC XS carbon pedals, Boone titanium 42 t chainring with BBG chainguard, KMC X9SL chain, 1 R DA shifter, 1 L Dia-Compe brake lever, King headset, Deda Newton deep (Belgian) bar, Cycle-Dynamics cassette (RIP), Wheels Manufacturing bolts, Jump Stop chain deflector, Storck Powerarms SL crankset, CXW long cable hanger, and a Lightweight rear derailleur. Two identical bikes please.
Favorite thing about cyclocross:
Being around dogs and generally happy people at the races
No, but I will probably also set up the same wheels for tubeless. I understand the drop channel is pretty deep in deep-v rims, so make sure you use plenty of layers of tape.
Up to this point, I've not trusted any standard rims for reliable tubeless use. Only Stan's rims. I will give the deep-V a try and see if it's reliable enough to race on.
Was surprised by and loved seeing my photos in the magazine. Someone congratulated me on it a couple weeks before I got my copy (my subscription had unknowingly lapsed) and I had forgotten about the tires and didn't know what they were talking about.
Anyway, I'm just now getting around to putting them up on eBay. I post here too.

Thanks for the fun article!
