This is where the pain starts. The blandly named Simons Fell is the first run up in the famous Three Peaks race. It heads up to the summit of Ingleborough and is so steep riders have to grasp the tufts of moorland grass or the dry stone wall. Getting hit on the helmet from a wayward back wheel is standard fare
