About Me:

I'm a lifetime cyclist. I rode cx when it wasn't normal. My 1st race there were maybe 40 riders-maybe. 5speeds in the rear and a single chainring and toeclips were the norm. I raced cx for 15 yrs, and stopped when my cx bike broke. Still enjoy ringing a cowbell as the racers pass by.

Current Bike Collection:

Between my wife and I we have 15 bikes. Most are road, but I have several mt bikes. My current fav is my Look road bike with 10 speed Record, but love to ride my steel Serotta fixie and my single speed city bike. Most riding is done on this bike, as I built it myself. It's got 700 c wheels, disc brakes and Vittoria cross tires, and is perfect for Portland as it has cool wooden fenders to keep skunk stripes off my backside.

Favorite Race:

My favorite race has to be the ones we used to do here in Portland prior to the outstanding Cross Crusade series, and these were done in our city parks. My favorites were at a Pier Park, with Gabriel Park a close second.

Dream Bike:

I don't have any particular dream bike, but I always wanted an Alan.

Favorite thing about cyclocross:

It's a good finish to hard summer season in that it's a one hour and a lap sprint, then your done till next week.

How long have you been racing cyclocross?
