I'm also new to Cross, so i went with an entry level bike. I raced it a lot last season with no problems. I do a lot of general riding on it as well, very good ride for the price. The only upgrade I'm considering are the brakes, everything else seems solid enough for a newbie like me. FTR, I didn't like the Cannondale either.

Rick,

I like it a lot and have been surprised on how comfy it rides. I thought the Alu frame would be harsher, but it's not at all. Obviously, the carbon fork helps out. Rode it some more lately on the road due to problems with the road bike, and grew to love it more.

Only did a few cx races so it took some time to adjust to the feel compared to racing on my 29er earlier. finally, got the position dialed so I can't wait for racing next season.

the weight doesn't bother me at all, but I've never worried about my bikes weighing that much anyway. so my JtS is 60 as I'm 6'3". Compared to my Kona 29er that I raced cx on before, the JtS feels like a feather!

It's a great entry bike as I didn't want to go lower than 105 components, but couldn't justify a higher group/cost. Would have like to get a bike with the Rival group to check it out, but those cost a bit more. It doesn't help that I enjoy cx, mtb, and road equally so there's only so much money to go around.

Glad I bought it!
