Looking for a set of disc CLINCHER wheels...these will be used more for gravel road races than cyclocross, hence the clinchers. 135mm rear spacing...38mm depth would be nice (can't afford Zipp 303s right now)

I just picked up a set of Roval CLX 40s, first road ride will be tomorrow morning. I plan on using theses on the road (& hopefully some GG) and I'm using Iron Cross Pros for cross races. I don't own a road bike anymore.

They may not be as top shelf as the 303s but they were $800 cheaper, they weigh 200 grams less, the rider weight limit is basically the same (240lbs vs. 250 on the Zipps), and they come stock with Ceramic Speed bearings. Neither set can be run tubeless so that's a wash. They've been getting great reviews from what I've found.

For a lot less cash Carver (available at Bikeman) now makes a carbon clincher disc set, the c38. The set is only $800 and the weight is respectable at 1,570 (100 more than the Rovals and100 less than the Zipps). The Bikeman site claims they were made for cross use so they should be durable. I have no experience with them but cx magazine reviewed the Carver c38 tubular disc version and from what I can remember the review was positive, especially at that price point.

The Carvers appear to be 10sp only (in case you are running 11 sp or if you want to have the option in the future)
