Planning on a 100 km ride (http://raidrockingham.com) in about a week. The conditions include 25 mi packed gravel and 2 CAT 5 climbs.  I have a '14 CRUX.  This is my first 100k ride.  Tires in my possession are 40c MSO, 38c Trigger Sports, 33c Spec Tracer Pro, 33c PDX and a Spec Hybrid tire that is slick and maybe 32c (on my city bike).  I am leaning toward the Tracer Pros or the Triggers with the file tread.

Just hoping to finish in one piece..as this may be the longest ride with the most climbing I've done to date.

Cheers

That ride has been on my radar for a couple of years and hope to do it next year. It sounds like a blast.

On Sunday after a mtn bike ride a guy was talking about the Raid, trying to get my brother to do it (he lives minutes away from it). It sounded like a pretty big group from his shop are going (& have done it in the past). The shop is Cycle Lodge in Pembroke, Ma.  My brother knows them pretty well and they sound like a cool/laid back group.

You could reach out to them (on a recent FB post they mention the Raid) to get a recommendation. They would be a good resource since they know the terrain (& pain, lol) of the route.

Please post an update post ride on how it went.

Will do.  I talked to one of my LBS and a guy there rode it last year on road tires.  He said a couple of the climbs in the beginning are brutal. This will be my longest ride and first metric century.

I forgot I posted this here.  The ride went GREAT and I HIGHLY recommend it.  I felt great at both rest stops and as anyone might expect, my legs were talking to me around mile 45'ish.  The final run up to Stone Church was great.  I am glad I did it and look forward to trying to ride RAID Vermont next year.

Ride tomorrow.  Riding Spec Tracer Pro 33c tires. Any last-minute suggestions for you metric-century veterans are appreciated.

Cheers

Are you running them tubeless?

Nope...have not made that leap yet.
