Does anyone age their tubulars intentionally? Not talking about stocking up after the season is over with post-season blow-outs but intentionally letting your tubulars sit around like a fine wine in hopes they get more supple. our PRO friends at BKW like to do that. Some say it was for the VOCs to evaporate over time and in hopes of a silk/cotton tires to get more supple (your dugast, fmb, or challenge seta). Perhaps you saw Julien Devries on the Lance Chronicles display his stash of aged tubies.

Go ahead, drop your opinion. Don't be afraid to express it. We've got ours but want to hear yours.

I just read this the other day and thought it was interesting:

Essentially it says aging isn't necessary because the factory makes the tires in the desired consistency. It seems to me that aging tires is an old wives tale. For added support, I pulled out some old, used tires to glue up for the road this week and the didn't look so hot. But that's only a sample size of one.
